Yeah Im guessing I should have spent a little more and just bought trickflow rockers as Im sure they are set up to work with trickflow heads.

Well heres another question. The roller is riding at about 2/5 up the valve and I have clearance with a 6.55 length pushrod. So not perfectly center. The instructions that came with the heads said that it doesnt have to be perfect, but the roller cannot move anymore than .8 on the valve surface. Well the tip travel is fine. SO question is, is the fact that it isnt centered perfectly going to hurt performance or durability? or both?

Im assuming that since it is not contacting right in the middle I will loose an extremely small amount of lift.

too low you can lose lift, too high you can break a stud off. get it centered. if you cant something is wrong with your geometry. should look something like this

I thought trick flow heads due to their design, most end up with around a 6.7 ish rod length, all the kits I have done came with a 6.7 ish rod length iirc.....

yea, i've done two or three trick flow headed set ups. mostly around 6.7 ish. i did think it sounded a bit off that he has to be using 6.55....maybe didnt check himself enough?

if you're high on the valve lengthen your checker till your mark is did center and your sweep is tiny like the picture i posted. longer rod should move you down the stem a bit.

Yeah the paper that came with the heads said that a 6.750 pushrod is used, but the closest I can get the mark to center is with a 6.55. And thats with the mark being low (exhaust side of head) so I really need to go shorter! Could I have possibly gotten the wrong rockers?

Heres what I have.

When I recieved them there was a piece of paper inside the box that reference chevy rockers?! but then on the receipt ot said ford and the part numbers matched up with whats online. Im starting to think I have chevy rocker arms.

Well just went outside and checked and the packaging that the rockers are in says ford 302 1.6 aluminum rocker arms. So they are the right part. Im really confused.

it's not always about getting them centered, it's about getting the witness mark to be narrow.

I know what you mean, what I was getting at was an article written by Buddy Rawls. I'll have to see if I can find it
