hinge pins

Default hinge pins

what's the best way to get the bottom hinge pin out?

Just did this last night on an `89... You may have different issues.

Cut the hinge pin in half and knock it out in two directions. I ground the "mushroom head" off it and realized that there wasn't enough room to knock it out in one piece. Should have noticed before I ground it down... duh.

I read somewhere to use bolt cutters, but they wouldn't fit in my application. Ended up using a cutting bit in a die grinder (gotta love air tools) since the air saw seemed like it was going to take about a week to get through.

that's how i had to do mine. i had to cut it in half using a dremel tool

And when you get the pins out, don't crack a beer and celebrate yet... you still have to deal with the bushings.
