Default ACCIDENTAL SHIFT TO FIRST INSTEAD OF THIRD

I am wondering what kind of damage could of occurred during this stupid accidental shift on my part. I was racing and shifted out of first at about 5000 rpm then shifted out of second at about 4600 rpm into first again instead of third, everything began to shake and i put it into nuetral and let off the gas as fast as possible, the car seemed to run fine afterward but don't know if it caused some long term problem. Been driving a stick for 15 years and never did this before just wasn't paying attention I guess!?

I had an accord at work one day where the customer did this and revved the car to 9350 rpms. It bent an exhaust valve and caused a misfire.

Some other things that may have happened could have hurt the tranny, u-joint, or rearend.

if it's still running fine, carry on, what's done is done, no need to worry if it's still running fine, bent valves are often a result of over reving

the shaking you felt, was likely from the rear tires dragging... you essentially turned your engine into one big *** brake!

If your car is running fine now, you got lucky and did no harm. If you car would have broke it would have showen it self as soon as it happend. you got lucky....

Do you think you could maybe, put your mods list in your signature.. instead of posting it every time? It'll help keep the clutter down on the forum pages.

Hum.... it would hard to not notice the syncros winding up trying to get 1st. I think it would have been real hard to push it in going that fast. Impossible on a non syncro first.
