I'm having a familiar problem with my new aod that I had with my old one. It absolutely won't shift into od at wot. Even stranger is when I lift so it shifts into od and then get on it again, it will down shift back into third and my rpms are well in the red. Surprised the motor hasn't popped. Any suggestions

mine does the same thing i have 4.10 gears so when im red lining at 110 mph it pisses me off i cant get it to go into od. i wanna top out my car but i dont wanna blow it up in the process.

A stock aod will not shift into od at wot, its built that way, it will not allow it. I had a transgo shift kit in my old aod and had the trans shop set it up to allow me to do that, but a stock valve body won't let you.
