a 306 is a 302 bored over. if you overbore you might as well stroke it too.
my 2 cents ? if you have the money to do it, just stroke to begin with. by the time you get forged pistons... your 1/2 way there. with that being said... i just did a top end on my 150k motor cuz i did not have the extra cash to put into it and i had been sitting on my heads and intake for almost 2 years.
i think those pro comp heads are 2.02 valves which means you'll need notched pistons to clear the valves. also will limit you on your cam, these cars respond well to exhaust mods more than intake mods. so you do not need 2.02 heads IMO, but thats just my opinion
i have seen guys go plenty fast on a 1.9 head mildly worked over. both stock cam and aftermarket.
my buddy went 11.80's and then later 11.60's after he broke his t5 and switched to c4.
this was done on iron gt40's with just the exhaust ported, on a box stock gt40 tubular, 4.10's and 125 shot. he did however have to launch at 5k on the smack and did break 2 axles 3 days apart... but it also took him a whole season to break the first one.
bottom line is that you can do well over 300 NA, and 400 on juice with not much invested. it is crude horsepower... but hp nonetheless
