Question Need help planning/budgeting a fox body build

OK. Never owned a muscle car before and looking to see what it would take to get started. Im currently driving a SRT-4 and wanna ditch the turboed FWD for a NA RWD.

Right now all I'm trying to do is figure out a budget.
I want a fox body, no clue on what year might be best. hoping to find one for around $2000 in decent condition. I want to drop a new motor in it. Not sure if I want a rebuilt factory motor or an aftermarket one(goal 350rwhp). That's where u guys come in to give me the advice. Not sure about the transmission. I want a 5 speed. Hopefully the tranny will be ok and I wont need a rebuild.

So pretty much my question is, how much between getting the new engine, getting it installed, (engine work I am not familar with at all) getting it repainted(if needed) and what ever else Im not thinking of, would this project cost me. Im just looking for a round about number, so i have an idea how soon I can get this started.

thanks

plan on dropping atleast $10000, because you likely wont build it right the first time

or you could save yourself a ton of hassle, and buy my 347, which has less than 3k miles on it. For $3800

its damn near $7K worth of engine and additional parts

most of us don't really keep track of our exact totals for projects because that would be terribly depressing, but for what you can sell your srt4 for you should get a pretty good start, and adder it just selling his ****, its a good motor imho but really man, no matter what price you buy a fox for plan to have 5k in it to make it a good car before you even really mod it at all.

thanks guys. Im just looking to get the thing rolling in good condition. Im not planning on building a drag car or anything it will by daily driver. I just want a badass fox body. all of the engine work will not be by me. So i wanna find a good engine. drop it in and be good to go for a while. how much will a good engine that can give me about 350rwhp cost me? I want a nice loppy cam on it. nothing too crazy though. ill eventually deal with things like rear ends and suspension down the road. the engine and labor to have it installed is all im concerned about now.
