quick advice don't get offended by the post to come

cai, underdrive pulley's, good exhaust, all increase power, even a little timing advance is an easy cheap power gain. but with all that you reduce drive-ability (annoyingly loud mufflers, underdrive pulley's could cause cooling problems) but a tune up and fixing all the different hidden problems on our cars such as clogged cats, bad 02 sensors, dirty maf sensor, many many cooling problems due to bad maintenance the list goes on. so go for those before you make more problems by modding it, and most everything I mentioned will improve your cars performance too.

a tune up doesnt increase your horsepower.

As for making the car faster, why don't you take the time to learn how to drive it responsibly first.

However, if you insist on adding performance to the car, and dont want to use a TURBO or SUPERCHARGER (learn how to spell please), then I would suggest you get some nice headers, a mid pipe, and a catback. Bump your timing up to about 12°, change out your stock air filter for a K&N drop in, and get some 3.73 gears installed in the rear end. Yes, i said GET them installed, not "install them yourself", since you cant even spell performance, nevermind set proper pinion pre-load and ring gear backlash...

So adder what you're saying is that arching plug wires and fouled plugs don't hurt horsepower at all?

you need to read in context buddy,

he said doing a tune up doesn't ADD power. all it does it return the car to its original state.

if you have 225bhp and you fouling plugs and arcing wires as you had suggested. maybe you're only operating at 180bhp. do a tune up and you've now restored your vehicle to its original 225bhp. did you add power? i didnt think so.

OP...you're really in a hurry to kill yourself or someone else aren't you? as stated, gears will be your biggest bang for your buck...have them installed for you. otherwise nicer exhaust and upgraded suspension will give you a nice seat in the pants power increase.

depends on how loaded daddy's checkbook is...

and just so we're clear, a car that will struggle to run mid 15's is NOT fast...

why dont you learn how to drive it first?

then, when you, you know, like, have a JOB, and can afford it, do a little RESEARCH and figure out what the best ideas are...
