Default Fuel Gauge Accuracy

Ok-

Here's what's up. I'm not swapping out any more slosh modules until either this one completely crashes, I stumble across a new one, or I find a way to prove or disprove any of the other 4 I have that I haven't tried yet.

This last one seems better than all the rest. I desperately need to do plugs & wires on the vert (averaged about 12.5mpg- mostly in town- this last tank) as well as check the timing, but for now here's what I tracked:

Trip Meter Fuel Reading
0-60ish_______F
70____@_____7/8
92____@_____3/4
126___@_____5/8
148___@_____1/2
162___@_____3/8
171___@_____1/4
181___@_____1/8
n/a__________E *I can't get my MS Excel spreadsheet to import properly- sry*

At 181 miles I filled it up today (the needle being just below the 1/8 mark) & it took 14.4gal. If what I've read about the tank being 15.5gal is true then at least my gauge is accurate when I'm on vapor.

Are all fox gauges inaccurate? It would be great if a few of you would track your next tank & post it so I can compare the results.

I don't have a fox, but from what I know our motors (95 5.0) aren't that different... Please, slap and correct me now if I'm wrong...

But I must say my gauge is also a little screwy... I'll track my next full-tank for you, but I have to say that when at "full" (ie., credit card at pump and it stops itself), and I check the gauge, it's never up at the Full Line... My issue may be different, but I thought I'd add my $0.02 to this...

the gauge in my car reads above full when i put a full tank of 110 in it for about 35 miles then it hits the full area so i know its off some

mines off by a decent amount, but i usually put gas in it when its 1 bar above E anyway

i also had a new tank put in 2 years ago, so my sending unit etc could be off a bit...

Mine has developed the habit of rising above the full line and then when it gets to the middle, it just stops measuring all together. Odometer tracking FTW!
