Default head porting help

Hey, everyone.

I have a set of trickflow twisted wedge 170cc runner 61cc heads with 2.02 1.60 valves I just pulled off my supposed to be 347. I am in middle of rebuilding the engine and I wanted to send the heads to a reputable head shop to have them ported and polished. I tried to do a search in here but when you put "head porting" in as a search about 200 threads pop up.....

I was hoping someone can direct me to the most respected places out there to ship heads to to have em opened up and flowed ect?

thanks alot everyone

tony

Fox Lake, or TEA.

Both companies have a CNC porting program that opens those heads up to amazing flow numbers. Just out of curiosity though, did you even measure the stroke like I told you to? Also, if its still stock stroke, why are you porting the heads?

i havnt had a day off since you made the post about how to measure the stroke. but even if it was a 302 and not a 347 (assuming i was going to stay with the standard stroke and not build a new engine) why wouldnt i port the heads? doesnt really matter if its a 302, a 347 or a motown 460 small block, the more fuel and air i can get into the hole the more power im going to make (assuming the cam is designed for the numbers the heads will flow) correct?

i figure once i get the motor out of the car and see what parts are inside, i will decide which route i want to go.
