Default Trick Flow top end??

hi, im looking for a set of heads and intake, and i have always been interested in tfs heads and afr heads, i know this may end up being one of those dumb tfs vs afr debates but im completely open to suggestions and i will be leaving my stock bottom end for a while, ive stated previously that i want 12 sec 1/4 times with this car, i will have full bolt ons. my question is; would it be better to get the tfs top end stage 2 kit or go with afr heads and holley system max intake and tfs stage two cam ? ive heard good things about both , does anyone have the trickflow kit?.. would it be better to mix match parts i kinda want the guess work out of the picture and some tell me what i need lol.

I run TFS Track Heats with a Systemax intake, 70mm TB and the TFS Stage 2 cam on a 306. The heads were ported (previous owner was gonna put 'em on a 408W) but even with the massive port work, it still makes 305 rwhp and 308 ft/lb on the dyno. it's pretty mild down low, but a helluva lotta fun when the tach swings past 3000rpm. Never made a serious pass at the track with it but in a full weight 90 GT on street tires (not drag radials...cheap *** Coopers) it ran 8.60's in the 8th at 82 mph.

I really need a good stroker short block and a new set of slicks...lol

It shocked the hell out of me. I figured on 8.90's at best on the street radials. I had to run slicks to get my old GT (stock engine) to get in the mid 8's na. I'd put the nitrous kit on this car but the rear is still bone stock except for the 3.73's and I don't want to risk snapping an axle.

A stock gt running mid 8s and a radial tire pass at 8.60? Musta been a cool day with a damn sticky *** track. I went 8.28 @ 83mph never dynoed it. I ran a 275/60/15 drag radial. Went a 7.82 with a lil shot!

I really shouldn't call it stock...it did have a mild cam, headers and exhaust...but still factory intakes and E7 boat anchors. as far as the gas...I ran a Compucar dry kit with the biggest jet they had and picked up a full second, going 7.60's at 88 mph.

I can't say much good stuff about our local 8th...but they DO prep the launch area well. Most of the local guys post better 60 ft. times at our track than at either of the two 1/4 mile tracks nearby. My 60 ft. times averaged a tenth quicker on our 8th mile track compared to the 1/4 mile tracks. One track here averages better 60's...but it's laid out on a slight downhill grade.
