Best code reader for my 95 GT
When I start my 1995 GT I get 5 sets of 5 beeps after the initial bongs/chimes of starting the car. I am wanting to get a code reader to help diagnose any problems. I did a search and found some older information about coder readers and that the 1995 5.0 uses OBD1 reader, but I was wondering, since the were older threads, if any new information was available for coder reader options. Possibly something newer and better? Any suggestions?
I've had concerns because my car sounds very healthy but just doesn't run like it should. When I punch it it feels like it is starving for fuel, air or something. I put in a new fuel filter and that didn't help. It's like something is holding it back and I figure a coder reader might enlighten me.
Thanks

Sorry if this is the wrong place, again, to post these questions. I seem to be having a hard time finding the proper place to start a thread.
Well I got a 3145 and got a bunch of fuel system lean codes. I get a code 172(HEGO(HO2s) sensor lean) and 176 and 181(Fuel system at rich adaptive limit at partial throttle/System Lean) 189(system lean). I guess that might explain why it feels like the engine is starving for fuel.

What is your Fuel pressure idle and under a load? do you have an adjustable fpr, stock injectors or upgraded? stock fuel pump?
If all thats good then you might wanna replace your o2`s.
Too much fuel dumping from a lean reading being factored in can cause it to lay down also!

I thought the beeping was to tell you that either a warning light was out or an airbag problem.
Last night I changed the air filter while cleaning the MAF and also replaced the Ambient Air Temp?(the one right after the MAF), and also the ETC sensor and now it runs a whole lot better.

I experienced the exact same "starving" problem as you and the lean codes also showed up on my code reader.
If i may suggest something - disassemble your MAF sensor im willing to bet the two little sensors are dirty. Thats the problem i found with my 94GT - they (the little sensors wires) were dirty as hell!! Now my car screams down the road!!
Hope this helps.
