Default Looking at buying a stroked 460 foxbody

Hello, I am looking at purchasing an 88 GT with a 545 stroked 460. C6 trans, upgraded axles, locker etc. DOVE heads (I know, motor needs more flow than that) electric waterpump, holley intake and carb (double pump) 4.11 gears. new paint, mint body. Very pretty car. also has an 8 point cage

First of all what is it worth? How streetable is this car?

I am looking at trading a lifted wrangler, that I have put everything I have into for the last 4 years. But my wife just had a baby boy, and he can't go in the jeep. Plus I wanna do car shows like me and my dad used to do.

Am I going to hate driving it to work (occasionally, I have a daily driver) Is it suitable for cruise nights, and taking day trips (I know gas mileage would be bad, any idea how bad?)

I wouldnt even consider streeting that. It should have enough power to put itself on the roof at a stop light. You think you cant put your baby in the jeep? You'll kill it in that fox!

I can't put the baby in the jeep because the wife says I can't. I am not looking to race light to light with it with him in the back. (he wouldn't be in it for a year or so anyway)

And it wouldn't be a daily driver. I only drove the jeep 726 miles last year. I just want something I can drive more than that.

baby issue aside, how crazy is the car? Am I gonna hate driving it once or twice a week? I work 25 miles from home?

based off whats listed, thats easily a 9 second capable car... Depending on how exactly the engine is built.. especially with the locker... I would have to say YES, you will hate driving it on the street. It will be a MAJOR PITA

Not to mention the 7-9 MPG youll likely get.

If I swapped it to a limited slip (I have one in the shed) and changed the gearing (3.55 or 3.73 which I also have) would it be more liveable?

I am not worried about mileage, the jeep gets 8-10 and only goes 55 because of gearing

I am gonna do just that. I can live with alot, I drove a short wheelbase jeep, with a welded rear and 38 inch bias ply tires for 4 years. If the thing will actually go 55 and stay in its own lane its an improvement!

I will drive it and see how it is, I do not have the full specs on the motor, so I don't know how radical it is yet

It would be more of a toy than anything, so I can tolerate a little bit of crap, we'll just have to see how terrible it actually is.

Worst case, its worth more than the jeep, and I live an hour from a dragstrip.......

Anyone else with opinions either way, feel free to comment

As for me, I will drive it and see how it is. Afterwards I will report back.

It's going to be very heavy in front and light in the back.
Makes for a real squrrilly, hard to drive car.
I also hope it has brakes on it that will really stop it.
Have fun.
I'd keep the Jeep.......
