with the top end kit with 40's ,1.7's and e cam i dyno'd at 281 rwhp with an auto. i had a buddy with the tfs kit and he dyno'd at 345 rwhp with a stick, huge diffrence but he spent 3 times what i did.i just put a 125 shot to it and that really woke it up.

How did he spend three times as much as you, the ford package is 2250 and the TFS is only 2550ish so if he gained literally that much horse over the ford package that is amazing. I am sure he had some other mods to.

if you don't buy the kit and piece meal everything you can pick up all the ford componants for way cheaper than the kit.frp parts can be had at the fraction of the price of tfs stuff and the diffrence between mine and his was he had 24 pound inj wich he was able to go more agressive of a tune,i still have 19 pounders. my heads were milled and have a five angle valve job but no porting just ccleaned up,i think in total i paid 1500 everything was new or rebuilt except the cobra intake. i am allso in canada so your prices don't apply, and the tfs kit is way superior and yes the gains are that much diffrence when you have the right tuner on the dyno.

What rockers did you use, because the one that are in the kit are a reason that the kit I am looking at is a littile more expensive. I think they are 300$ rockers. How does yours sound raftdaddy? You pretty much have the setup I was originally talking about getting so tell me about hows yours is and how it runs. Thanks man.

i have crane 1.7 rr's that were actually what came factory on the 93 cobra i found a guy with a brand new set still in the box he sold me for about 150.

it sounds real good with the o/r x and flowmaster mufflers. youtube e cam and you can hear allot of the cars with them

. as for the set up,i really don't have a true feel, as i have an aod with a stock stall so up until the nos it was pretty weak off the line.with the slow start i still pulled a 12.8 @ 104 and it was my first time ever to the track. but once i'm moving it sure winds out really fast and changed the car completely.
the 281 rwhp was at 5500 but my car has a allot miles on it and stock bottom end so we stopped it there but it was still climbing.

i know my set up is not the best but i was able to make it up at a good price and every thing works well together.but if it was me and thier was only a couple hundred bucks diffrence i would go tfs for sure. but if i had to do a budget build again i might go with flotec alum heads,tfs1 cam and cobra intake.or keep my car stock and slap an on3performance turbo on.

but in some way i'm happy to have it all ford as well.and it is reliable and easy to install.hope this helps a bit but shop around first!!

Alright thanks a lot man. I just do not get how you got all that so cheap, just one head alone is over 500. How does being in Canada effect the pricing that much, esp since you said you had the head worked? You by chance of the list again or where you bought the parts from. As this being my first build I do not need a tone of horse if I can save like 500$ I am still in college. Once I graduate I will be ready to go all out, but who knows if it will be with this mustang anyways. I am finally calling the shop today been busy after work and I will see machining cost finally and get his opinion on builds, he is a mustang gooroo.

If he is a machine shop mustang guru persay he will coax into a carb right off the bat, most machine shop peeps are stuck in the caveman days of muscle cars!!

sorry for the long reply,i bought most of my stuff from from guys who had it sitting in thier garage.the heads were still in the plastic from the machine shop when i bought from a guy. i have seen many for pretty cheap on ebay.the tfs kits in canada sell for 3-3500 and when we order from the states we pay full shipping and this beauty of a thing called brokerage.(add 35%). but anyway,i was in a budjet minded way as well so just hunt around, many guys think all ford stuff is garbage,it's not, just not as big as gains as others. just my opinion though.
