i drive a 1995 gt when it was running properly i would sit around 2800 rpm's in 3rd gear doing 65-70km/h with my e303 cam just purring nicely now my rpm's are around 2200 and i cant hear my cam anymore. what can cause this? a bad tps or a bad tune? it is almost as if my gear ratio is out i'm in need of some help!

thats impossible

you cant change rpm at a given speed in the same gear without changing a gear ratio somewhere. trans, rear end, tire size, anything. but something HAS to be changed

The only thing I can think of is I had my chip re-tuned is it possible to control the gear ratio on a custom tune? maybe thats throwing it off.

one other thing i'm driving on some bald tires right now lol waiting for my new ones. but the car was driving fine before with the same bald tires just a thought.

Is your car an auto? It probably dropped into OD.

no my car is manual

then what you are describing is impossible

maybe the tune changed when the coverter goes into lock up.

thanks for the help but something is messed up so i guess i have to cave and take it to the dealer

he said it's manual, John..........op maybe your rpm gauge is not reading accurate, have seen a bad tfi cause erratic/ inacurate rpm fluctuations
