I just bought a 5.4 DOHC engine out of a navigator. want to put it in my 88 mustang gt. know there will be some modifications needed but what all am i gonna need to do this. know i need k member and wiring. any write ups yall knowof cause im having no luck finding. if all else fails my dad will get my navi engine for his 97 expedition. wanna upgrade heads and cams on it then stuper charge it. Ive got choice of a 4.6l sohc, 4.6l police interceptor, 5.4l sohc and the 5.4 dohc navi engine. got a gt40p engine i love but want a mod motor cause brother and friend copied my idea and are planning on doing 331s like i was so want something diffrent and wanna beat them on the track. any help or reccomendations would be greatly appreciated.

It's a BIG headache, I know a few guys that did it with their SN95's back up in Orlando and they have had nothing but nightmares, even with tuning shops trying to get the tuned, and honestly once they did get them tuned.... They weren't that impressive, would be better off sticking with the 331 set up IMO.

I really wanna do a modular motor. Ive only got 500 in the motor which runs but has a burnt valve. my dad wants the motor if i dont do it. thought it be cool to have pretty much a gt500 motor. my dad has a 2v 5.4 and 4.6 i can probably get my hands on. which one would be the one to go for performance wise.

i know if you run a supercharged 5.4 the motor sticks up past the fenders.idk about the non supercharged motors though

yeah. wanted to do it but its not gonna be worth hassle so dad gave me his 4.6 sohc engine for it. gonna make it a 5.0 stroker with kenne bell supercharger. if yall know any good write ups for the 2v 4.6 into a fox id greatly appreciate it. gonna take a couple years to get everything done mainly cause of money but will be worth it in long run. plus my car runs and drives great how it is so i can still drive it while im getting everything i need to fix my car up.

should probably jsut stick with a pushrod engine and save yourself headache!!!!!!! or just get a newer mustang gt

This was my first car that I saved up and bought. the 302 has done good but just wanna do the mod swap to be diffrent from buddies. besides god made the man that invented ibprophen to help with the headaches im about have doing this swap.
