dont mind Adder, his tampon is old and dried up.

Use all the old top-end stuff if you want, but bring them into a machine shop and have it all checked out. Catastrophic engine failures like yours tend to break other things as they go.

cool, thanks...i been thinkin about that 5.0 shortblock from LMR...i want to get the cobra upper n lower intake...bbk 65 mm throttle body...was thinkin about also goin 2 the local pic-a-part and see if i can find some gt40 heads (what models were they installed on??)...but i was reading that stock camshaft may fit but aftermarker (performance) may need some modifying??? i already have the bbk underdrive pulleys that i picked up here locally (off craiglists) for $80...brand new in the box...any other suggestions i can do budget wise???

i also decided to go w/ LMR block, will be ordering it next month (oct. 11th)... will post pics when i get it and start piecing it back together...also is there any vegas MF members??

Man, seriously, if you're not in a hurry to throw this project together, you'd be better off just collecting all new parts over time and build it very cleanly. Not saying used parts are bad but if you're going to buy a nice crate motor, why slow it down with components that may be worn out and need to be re-built themselves? All of this can be done on a budget if you're willing to stretch out the project timeline. Nobody likes to have to go in and tear down the project they just completed because corners were cut. Quick turnaround is tempting but worth the patience to take it slow in the long run.
