Tires don't really care what car they are on, they do their functions about the same. But, my personal opinion is look into hankooks. You may not have heard of them, but they've been around a while mostly as a medium performance tire and recently expanded their market. Optimos are their best all around tire, but given your size your options will be limited. You will most likely be stuck going with one of their ventus options which are directional. There are different types of the ventus, but there is one that offers a 50k tread wear warranty for a very reasonable price, I just can't remember which one it is. Which, that's gonna be about the highest warranty you'll find on a tire with an odd size, ford made some odd sizes though.

its funny... i don't seem to be having any issues with wet traction. and I rock Nitto 555R's.

maybe you should consider upgrading your driver mod

I'm sorry but that statement is far from correct. Vehicle weight, gearing, type of suspension just to name a few all come in to play!!

I concure, having used and sold many tires, they are not all created equally

I hope you realize this is a general statement, and not a way of faulting a tire from one car to another. Have you ever read a tire review and how everyone usually lists the same pros and cons? Do you realize this is from a mix of different vehicles? One tire is not going to work better on one car then not for a different car where as a different tire will do the exact opposite. Does this make sense or does it need more details? Its not like im going to put a tire on my celica and it drive excellent then put them on my mustang and it drive like pure crap, tires are not that picky.

No, sorry, you made a specific statement, and you were incorrect. Period.

Hey let's get all technical then if we decide we want to be like this! My mom has hankook optimos on her crv which grip well and ride well. But let's say I decide to tighten her gearing and boost her engine to 500hp! Oh no suddenly im roasting the treads off those tires! I guess I should have opted for mickey thompson street slicks to handle such a crazed idea! Gee how foolish I was to make such a statement for a guy looking for an all season tire.

I was referring to your statement being general btw, plus comparing tires as in what the op was asking for. As in this, buddy, that if I cheap out and put a junky tire on, they ride harsh, wear quick, and grip poorly. Would it matter if they were on a crv or a dd mustang? No, they are going to share those characteristics, same as if I spend the cash to have a high end michelin. My point was to the op to do a little bit of searching through reviews, not base his tire choice on simply having a mustang.
