Default frame connectors

I went to get the a9l today and the guy also told me he had frame ties as well. I was thinking of passing at first but when I saw them I liked them and got them for 75 and they don't appear to have been used. They are bolt ins, he thought they were comp engineering but I did a little searching and they appear to be ford racing. They are tubular, and the number I found was m5478b. They definitely seem strong, by looks stronger than the ones I normally see floating around, but does anyone know more info on these? I will need bolts but that's just a quick trip to the hardware store. Does anyone have any installed pics? Any info would be great.

Have them welded in.
Bolts will do strange things to the car if you are making any power.....

Yeah im planning to now, I found online instructions and I guess these slip actually over the frame rails and you drill through some of the frame rail. That just doesn't work for me, im not at all in favor of altering a structural item of a car. Anyone have any other info on these? I'm wondering if I can use these along with the other style of frame ties together, I just wonder if that would be beneficial at all.

It's good that you have SFCs because they are a necessity for Fox Body Mustangs! But for the sake of anyone else reading this thread, I'll point out that our budget sub frame connectors are only $55 new, with the MF discount!

And to answer the OP's question, like tinman said, they should be welded to the subframes.

Mine sere free. I just welded on 2 thick walled pieces of 2" box tubing and it is stiff as a board 60ft 1.72 with no chassis flex. Drive shaft loop is next as are some slicks.
