Default heater core replacement time

For those who have been fornunate enough to have already replaced your heater core, i'm interested in how long this has taken you.
I'm redoing the interior so I already have the carpet, radio, hatch pushbutton and console removed. I also have the vinyl and metal covers removed from the underside of the steering column.
Assuming I have all the tools I need right there at arms reach, what am I looking at for time.

Another ? What is the best lube to put on the speedo cable to stop that bird from chirpin ?

Any advise or ideas are appreciated !!!

I did it about a year ago...learned from reading on this forum, and wasn't awful. I'm by no means a mechanic, and it took me about 4 or 5 days total (worked on it for like 45 minutes each time after work or when I had free time...and I was going at a slow pace, sometimes stopping to come back on the forum to ask questions). It's not my DD, so it being torn apart for a few days was no biggie. After I had the dash dropped down, I was able to pry the heater core box open just enough, and brace it open and was able to pull the old core out, and drop the new one in. Hope this somewhat helps.

I sure didn't count myself fortunate, especially the second time! It's a good days work, though with the console already out, you're part of the way there.

I started tonight and not too bad so far. This is not my DD so I like the fact I can walk away from it. I was told to use white lithium grease on the speedo cable. Thanks for the input.

It isn't that bad really, it is just time consuming getting the dash to the point where you can pull it forward. There are 2 nuts with large washers in the engine bay then a bolt in the lower left of the heater box inside right beside the drive shaft tunnel. There are lots of guides on how to do it, though have heard if you have ac hooked up it may require discharging and disconnecting lines.

This does not belong in Tech OP...

I can replace mine in about 3 hours probably but I have had my dash in and out a couple times so its a walk in the park....
