Default Newby. 89 Notch build

Just bought a 89 notchback. Looking to start my mods and ive been working on diesels so dont have alot of experience with these so just want to make sure i head in the right direction. I want to eventually add single or twins, and make about 400-500 HP. Do i start by building up the 302 or just go ahead and do a swap and put in a 351 windsor. i would like to keep the 302 just to save the money and time of doing the swap. Let me know what you guys think and im open to all opinions. thanks alot.

500 rwhp...do a windsor or if wanting 302 base block, get an aftermarket, don't mess with stock blocks at that power level.

500 is pushing a 302

what you need to ask yourself is how fast you wanna go.

i like mid 11 sec street cars, but if you want a 10 second car, it will NOT be super street-able anymore.

a notchback 5 speed can break into the 11's with under 400 hp if you do it right, its very easy to get them under 3000 lbs with full interior etc. 2800 wouldn't be that hard even.
