My hood release cable on a 1992 LX 5.0 is frayed a good bit. I thought I would do a preventative repair on it. I see various ones that I can order online but would prefer a local store.

Does anyone know if this one would work (shows up for that year/make/model), it's clearly not black.

I've done a search on Oreilly, Napa, Autozone, etc but didn't come up with much. They all have just the cables but they are various lengths and sizes. I'm still searching for the right size/length.

 

I guess that's not what I need. I guess I'll have to order one of these cables online that is an OEM replacement. I wonder why no one sells it locally.

 

I have a cable off my 86 since I use hood pins, not sure if it'd work right for your 92 though.
