Ok well I just bought a 90 GT. It has no motor or trans. I can get a 91 5.0Ho motor for 150. I want to rebuild the motor. I was wondering if anyone had any input on cams, heads, intakes, pistons. I'm not racing it on the track but I want a good build for street. something when I need to let it loose it will perform.

get a .040 piston kit and a trickflow topend kit that will be your street ticket and for a decent price!

You will be at 308cuin and about 9.8:1 c/r and close to 300rwhp if you can put them to the road then it`ll be hard to catch i ran that setup for about 3yrs but i had the stg 2 cam with 150shot!

Ok well changed my mind. I went and seen my buddies dad who owns a machine shop. He had a 408 there that someone never picked back up. It had been sitting there for like a year. It is the block, crank, and pistons. I'm looking for ideas on cam, heads, intake, and carb.

Well really depends on what you want and what you can afford!

If you decide to go 302, don't just use a .040 over kit. I'd have the machinist look at it and tell you what you need as it might only need .020 to clean the cylinder walls up.

WHY pay the same money at the machine shop and not get a few EXTRA cubes out of the deal! its rediculous not too! But as for adding cubes hell just get a stroker kit and be done!

PLUS if you had read though you`d see he has taken a completely different route!

The only reason to just hone and re-ring is really to just rebuild to stock specs and power levels etc and just mainly to save money on parts!

Most of the time once you tally up the bills for a re-ring job and a piston kit and bore job you arent really much difference in price!
