Default looking for distributor

I currently have a 1965 ford pickup with a 1995 mustang engine in it, I have the distributor that i took from my old motor which was a 69 and has points and was looking to convert to electronic ignition. if anyone has any ideas about either swapping for a newer style distributor or a conversion kit it would be greatly appreciated.

There are several good ways to update your old distributor, just do a web search.....

you can't use that distributor unless you put a steel gear on it for the roller cam, and if you did you can convert the points via a PETRONIX elec conversion , then after that dune the mechanical and vac advance portion, or just grab a distridutor off an 84-85 carbed mustang and a coil and the duraspark ignition box as well and wire it all up and presto, you have elec ignition.

I changed my 68 302 points dizzy for a duraspark II system and it cost me less than 150 bucks for the coil dizzy spark box and resistor all new at autozone. There was a choice on the dizzy for a steel or cast gear and since the cam I used was a non roller I used cast , but for the roller cam you need steel for sure. Wiring up the box was pretty straight forward using a diagram I found on line for the blue tab box.
