I went with a 347. Find some TW 190 FACs or ported TW CNC 185s milled to 58cc with a custom cam and a Super Vic intake. That's what I did. You won't be disappointed.

331 will be a way better setup if you're not building a straight race engine. Rod angle on the 347 is pretty extreme.

Can rev a 331 to the moon too!

oh dear...the ole R/R debate again........a 331 is not a way better set up, you need to stop reading magazine hoopla/articles........for one a 331 and a 347 built right , perform equally as well number 2 there are far worse rod angles out there found on other engines that have gone 100k + such as the ole SBC 454 and iirc the ford I-6 300, CARE TO KNOW THE R/R on those motors vs a 347?? and you can rev a 347 to the moon as well, heck I run a 347 that doesn't burn oil nor has any R/R ISSUES, been running it for 4 years, got a friend as well who has a 100k on his 347 and uses it for a courier service, and no issues. this topic has been debated time and time again and floats around magazie article claims with the so called theroy and no real life examples, FYI a347 can be built more than 1 way...5.315 rod or 5.4 rod...to each his own

here's some food for thought, become a member and read the R/R debate.

No replacement for displacement, as they say. Not so true anymore with variable cam timing engines and whatnot, but for good 'ol american V8 power, bigger is better, IMO.

I've revved mine WAY past the 7k mark plenty of times... 347s are very streetable and reliable and can make loads of powah when built right. Which means no cost cutting!
