5.0 Conversion. NEED HELP!
Hey! New to Mustangforums. You guys always help out just by me reading a post. But I cant seem to find the help I need this time! haha. so made an account. I'm converting a 1993 Mustang 4cyl to a 5.0 thats been swapped to Carb. As of right now all I have is the 5.0 motor and a C4 Trans. Now the Ford Ranger that the engine and trans is coming out of MAY have some parts I can use. such as Radiator, etc. But I'm just gonna assume the ONLY things I have is the Motor and Trans..Again the 5.0 is not FI, its got a 4 barrel on it. What is a complete list of EVERYTHING I need to do the swap. Everything from mounts to plugs. Driveshaft. EVERYTHING! Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated. thanks guys!
also any heads up advice from you guys who have done this before would be GREAT. sure people can tell you how and what you need but first hand info is always helpful !!!. again. thanks!

Welcome!
Just the engine and trans will be needed from the Ranger....carb to pan.... what accesory drive is being used on it?
If the ranger has an aftermarket ignition box, obviously take it..along with any mechanical gauges. They are not needed but its nice to have just in case. Just follow any normal 4 banger to v8 swap you can find. The front brakes, suspension and rear end are NOT necessary to make the car drivable nor does it make it "unsafe" to drive. Its just better to do so.

Thanks, But turns out now that I'm not getting that engine. dude swore up and down that it Ran PERFECT and was pushing alot of power. I get there and it took me an hour to get it running and then the trans wouldnt even go in gear. SOOOO I'm gonna go get a junkyard 5.0 and it'll be FI thank god. Also doing a 5 speed swap. I have roughly a year to gather the parts. I wanna do it right and as factory looking as possibly. but with about 400 horses under the hood. How does it work out for the harness? I dont wanna hack into it and I heard theres companies that make plugs so you dont have to mess anything up. This swap seems like a pain in the a** from reading all these post.
Its quite simple.....I have a EFI swap thread in the tech article section that might help you out.
Good luck getting 400hp looking factory...not gonna happen unless you get some more cubes or go forced induction

Alright I'll check it out. And stock LOOKING I can pull off 400 horses. I dont mean the engine has to look stock. Or the car has to sound stock. But I want under the hood, wheels, and body to look like it was a factory 5.0 LX. I'll have aftermarket parts on the engine. and exhaust. etc. I'm just gonna try and get the fattest wheel on a stock rim as I can haha But body (hood, wheels, etc) all to be factory looking. Wont be hard to reach 400 horses anyways. I plan on building the engine before it goes in. Cam. Heads. etc.
ok...a H/C/I 302 will not reach 400hp without some MAJOR work and some nitrous or F/I. A lot of people don't realize 400hp N/A isn't as easy to reach as some think. It takes a very well put together combo which most people can't do because they do not understand what it takes. Then they throw the biggest parts at it thinking that will do it and then wonder why it runs like crap. Those who say they want 500hp from a N/A 302 really make me laugh. Then you will be getting into the less streetable area with a huge cam. Tmoss has done some great work with a stock intake to make them flow up there with Trick flow....that upper cost a pretty coin though too lol
