Congrats on the s-trim. I went with 165s on my motor. If I would have been changing pistons, I probably would have went with 185s. There are much better ots cams out there better than the e-cam.

I went with a 90mm sct because it matches the size of the powerpipe. Kinda makes sense...

gt40 heads, e cam, and rpm2 intake will work fine with a vortech, pulley it down to make some good boost, probably around 15pounds, and it can make 450 to the tires pretty easy.

like you said, you need a proper fuel pump, and injectors to support it. I would recommend a 255 high pressure pump, and 42lb injectors.

most people are chicken sh*t...... haha.

I know plenty of people running 15lbs with no cooling, as daily drivers.

you will be fine!

worst case scenario, you blow a head gasket, just make sure its tuned really well.

its the stock heads/gt40heads design, or however you wanna call it. They don't have as much material in certain areas as most aftermarket heads, letting them lift up much easier everything else being equal.

head studs will help, and a quality gasket, but leave it how it is until it blows. My buddy Trey's car.... well we don't talk no more... he had 100% stock motor with a procharger at like 15lbs, (no cooling mods)and it made 380hp 380trq at the tires, running out of fuel, so he shifted at like 4200 or 4500rpm or something like that. He daily drove it like that for a year. Decided he wanted more power, got a better fuel pump, and I think rails and injectors. made 408rwhp as it blew the 150k mile stock head gaskets. dunno why really.

he then went h/c/i, pretty mild stuff, nothing crazy and it made 550rwhp....... and he sold it. dunno why..

I would not upgrade the rod bolts if thats what your talking about, thats big coin to have the rods and stuff machined.

I would not recommend the b-31 with gt40 heads, they don't flow enough to support the higher RPM's.

What you have now will work just fine. throw boost at it, and it will make a ton of power.
