Default when to replace engine?

i have a 90 GT (302) with 188,000 miles on it. It runs fairly well to have that many miles on it. I was wondering should i just go ahead and rebuild the engine or put a reman in there because I know it may need it later and ut will probably be better than letting the current engine nickel and dime me. Give me some suggestions guys

How will the engine nickel and dime you? Is it showing signs that it is wore out? Have you done a compression test? There's no reason to rebuild or replace just because of the miles on it. Even if you were going to put a power adder on it, I wouldn't bother until it needs it.

I'd leave it there if it's running good. I had an F-150 that I bought with 180K. I drove it to 230K and the only reason I sold it then is I could finally afford a new car.
