bump steer issues
I have an 88 GT that has really bad bump steer. Took it in for an allignment, but they said the allignment was dead on so no adjustments. Put the car on a lift and monkied around a little and found no lose ball joints, tie rods or steering components. I bought the car with the pony rims on it and swapped those for 17 inch cobra rims and that had no positive or negative affect on the bump steer. If anyone can help me that would be great, getting sick of white-knuckling it on the highways.
Without changing the entire front suspension you will have bump steer. Ford made these cars cheap and for straight line, moron enjoyment performance. Aftermarket K-member and coilovers is basically the only way to eliminate it. FYI you can't really change caster/camber with the stock suspension.
As of right now it is not lowered. My plans for this winter are tires, lowering kit, subframe connectors and a bump steer eliminator from Steeda. If I have enough money I will get caster/camber plates after those other additions.
