Exclamation 85 mustang gt 5.0 ado to aode, possible?

Has anyone swapped the aod with an aode in the 85 5.0? Mine is on its last leg and i dont have the cash to get it rebuilt or a new one but i do have an aode out of a 95 that was rebuilt a while. I cant find anything on the net about it so im assuming thats a no-go?

And yes, i have scoured the yards for a used aod or even a t5 (i would do a swap if i could find a cheap one) but no luck. So im left with this. Any help on the matter would be awesome.

The aod uses a tv cable to control pressure and shift points The aode uses an electrical pulse supplied by the eec . There are some other differences also but I think that the electrical will be your biggst problem as there is no way to control the shifting with out the proper computer and plugs.

I have everything for the aode; all plugs and wires, shifter w/ cable, rear mount, drive shaft (because i think the aode is longer than aod,) hanger for the pipes, even got the ECU from the 95 (i know i cant use it, just making the point about having EVERYTHING.)

So really, if i knew where all the wires from all the plugs were spliced into, remapped my ecu, do you think it would be possible? My real concern is the fit. Do you think much modification would be needed to install it (minus integrating it into the harness?)

I think the aode uses a longer bell housing. Maybe you could swap the bell housings .

WTF the bellhousing is the case!(the only bellhousing you can swap is a c4 automatic type) the AODE is electronic, you cant do the swap unless you spend about 800$ on and aftermarket controller!

PMA-PA99101 that will get you swapped plus you can set the shift points you desire!

you can change the AODE to a full manual valve body and shift it yourself, There are a few kits to change them over now and I even seen one the was just the kit so you don't have to buy a new valve body
