Default Rebuilding a 302

Ok so I have a 1991 mustang gt with stock everything, except for the cam.
Today while driving I noticed my plugs fouled out again (twice in two weeks), and I've chased the culprit down to oil getting on my plugs. So it's time for new rings, I stopped driving the car and parked it right away, and it smelled like burning oil also. So my question is this, I want to get a new cam kit and rebuild kit, including all the bearings and pistons and rings, etc. My next question what kind of cam should I use, B303? If anyone has any idea where my best bet to get all the parts would be please send me in the right direction. I have about $2000 to spend on it, and just want a little more hp than the stock, It will be a DD so I don't wanna kill the gas mileage to much. It is a 91 roller XXX block by the way.

How many miles are on the engine? I wouldn't be so quick to think your needing new rings. It could be valve guide seals or the pcv is malfunctioning causing oil to be sucked into the intake. To be sure its the rings you need to do a compression test on all 8 cylinders . If all the plugs have oil on them I suspect the pcv

I'm going to be doing the compression test tomorrow. The engine has a little over 154,000 miles. I was wanting to rebuild the engine anyways.

Buying a assembled short or long block from a reputable source is an excellent option to rebuilding your own engine.

You really need to do a leakdown test on that engine to see if it's the rings or not.
You'll also be able to see if it's the valve seals also...
