Smile 1995 Mustang GT No power

So i just bought a 1995 mustang gt 5.0 5 speed car. The car idles good but the problem is when you start out in first their is no power but all of a sudden it wants to take off and the same thing happens for the other gears. NO power then randomly it will take off. I dont even know where to begin on this one. I changed the fuel filter and the cap and rotor but I dont want to start throwing parts at the car with out knowing what the problem is. The check engine light comes on after about 10 to 15 minutes of driving but you turn the car off and the check engine light goes off.

Thank you
Any help is appreciated

I suggest you go to this page and readup on how to get the codes that are stored in your cars PCM. http://dfwmustangs.net/forums/showthread.php?t=7908

It could be caused by a number of failing sensors ,, One thing you can try is to clean your MAF sensor. But it could be due to faulty TPS, ECT, 02, or even a sticking egr valve. Dump the codes and write them down

+1 ^^^

We'll need those codes before we can give accurate advice.

And welcome to the forum by the way.

Are you sure those codes are correct. Your 95 Mustang should have 3 digit error codes.

Foxbody's had 2 digit codes.

How did you get your codes ? Code reader ? Paperclip method ?

I took a look at the mass airflow sensor and to me it looks brand new.
