In 1995, what was the factory stock HP in a 302 (5L) engine ? And could anyone calculate (or guess), the increase by adding a 65mm Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock heads, headers, MSD ign, CAI, ? Haven't been able to locate a dynamometer where I live. Thanx for any guesses.

Stock was 215hp. With that setup your stock intake is going to be choking out the heads, most people with a decent head/cam/intake swap are in the high 200's low 300's to the rear wheels. So 350 or so crank hp depending on the tune.

Thanx for the reply. My intake is 65mm. Isn't stock 60mm? And the heads aren't stock either. I bought the GT set up like this already, so I don't know what all was put inside the motor. It moves out OK, so...........? Appreciate the info.

I believe the stock ones are 60mm, I don't mean the throttle body I mean the intake manifold. The stock GT HO intake manifolds were pretty restrictive from the factory, that's why a lot of people would swap them out for gt40 intakes back in the day (can be found on later model explorers and a few other cars), they're similar to the intake on the 94/95 cobras

The stock one (assuming it still has the plate on the top) says 5.0 HO on it

The cobra intakes usually say 5.0 Liter Cobra on them

These are some of the gt40's you can find that were a common swap

Most of the other aftermarket ones will say "Edelbrock" or "Trickflow" or whatever brand they are on the intake

As I mentioned in my first post, I have a 65mm Edelbrock Intake. (Somehow we're getting crossed in our terminology.) I really love the picts you sent. Very educational, and they made me realize that I'd better clean my 5L to look as pretty as those pictures....heh. Once again, thanx for your time and info.
Charlie.
