Default '15 GT Reverse Not Activating

Have a two week old GT 6spd with 80 miles on it and today after trying to move the vehicle in reverse I noticed the lifting mechanism that actuates putting the shifter into reverse appeared to not be connected to anything. Fortunately I was able to get the shifter into reverse by literally using both hands--one to move the shifter to the upper-left, and the other to pull up manually on the entire gear stick.

Before going through the hassle of having to drop this off at the dealer, has anyone experienced this issue, or can advise as to a self-fix?

Thanks in advance.

Wow man, sorry to hear about this!

They've known to be a little finicky to get into a reverse (especially if you're not pushing down hard enough) but not like that!

I would highly recommend taking this to a dealer and having them take a look.

Keep me updated!

Suddenly the issue is gone. It's as though it never happened. Didn't do anything different except parking it in reverse and setting the parking brake after I turned it off.
Weird. 'Hope it was a one-time thing.

Not to insult your intelligence but did you slip the clutch a little as you were putting it into reverse? Sometimes the gear just doesn't line and if you slip it a little to get it into gear.

You no longer push down on the shifter. I like the
better.
