What is the tube coming out of the air intake that goes to the small box?

You can see it in this picture, I am curious what it is for? The large tube going to the small box on the right between the engine and the air intake box.

i think you mean the sound tube. It doesnt really do anything other than move sound from engine bay to inside of car. Many people just delete it, myself included.

The tube is just for piping in engine sounds to the passenger compartment because the newer cars are way quieter than older ones. Leaving it or removing it (as long as you plug it) does nothing either way to the motor. Besides if you miss the sounds, just pretend like you used to when you were a kid making race car sounds
