Default Whining noise

I just noticed yesterday that when I turn my car is making a whining noise. Power steering is still smooth. Anyone else having this issue? The car is only 9 months old with 3,200 miles on it.

I heard a whining noise yesterday, but then realized it was just me wishing the snow would melt

Take it to the dealer and let them fix it for free.

I did a little more driving today and noticed that it is only whining when the air condition is turned on. The air is also not blowing cold, at all.

As far as taking it to the dealership, I recently installed the Ford Powerpack 2 so I am just bracing myself for the whole "you voided warranty although what you installed has nothing to do with what is going on with the car" fight.

sorry to get off topic but did the PP-2 make a noticeable difference?

My issues are definitely ac related. The ac wouldn't even blow cold last night and a film keeps developing on the windshield. I went ahead and scheduled a service appointment for next week.

As far as the PP-2 goes, I did see a noticeable difference. The torque around 1,500 rpm's will smoke the tires off in 1st and 2nd gear, especially in sport mode. Ford did a really good job with the tune.

My dealer said, as long as the changes didn't cause the problem, you're ok.

My local dealership had to replace the compressor and a slew of other parts. They were cool about not flashing the computer. All is good!

So why did the AC compressor make the car squeal when turning?

Or was that just a false correlation at the time?

When I made the initial post, I didn't really diagnose it. The whining noise incurred all the time when the ac fan was turned on. The whining noise would increase when the engine revved higher. It sort of reminded me of a bad ground with an audio system. The dealership called me at the close of business so I had to rush up there to get it. The noise is gone and the ac is cold so it had to be related to the issue.
