i took it to the dealership and they said it show the code for the crankshaft but they need know if my car has been tune becuase if it has been its not going to do any good in changing it!

The crankshaft sensor is there to let the ECU know what position the crankshaft is in so it can set the proper ignition timing. If the sensor fails, the ECU won't know when to fire off the spark plugs and the engine won't be able to run. If the sensor is going bad, even if it's working for now, you'll be running the risk of getting stranded.

I honestly don't know what having a tune would have to do with the crank sensor going bad? I'd think it does the same job regardless of whether or not the engine has been modded but I suppose I could be wrong.
