Default New tires.

I’m looking at getting new tires soon. Has anyone replaced the stock Pirellis with Michelin pilot a/s 3+? That’s what I’m leaning towards. Are they ok in the snow. I live in NJ so we don’t get huge amounts of snow on a regular basis. Are they better then the stock tires? TIA.

IMO Michelin are better than any tire.

You're far enough north that winter tires would make sense, even if you don't get tons of snow, the cold will ruin summer tires and I'm not a big fan of all season tires. They're not really good at anything, just a compromise in the middle of summer and winter tires. The only reason to justify all seasons, at least for myself, is if money or space is an issue that prevents a 2 separate sets of wheels.
In pretty much every segment, the Michelin's are better than their counterparts.

That is my sentiment too. Granted, I live in AZ (phoenix valley) so two of our three vehicles have summer tires on them year-round and one has all seasons (SUV) but, if I lived where there were four seasons, make the sacrifice and have two sets, Winter and Summer. You can thank us later.

I upgraded to PS AS 3+ last September. Had the original 235s on 18 " rims went to a staggered 20" setup with 20x9" on front and 20x10" on back. 255/35s and 285/30s. Absolutely changed the car for the better. Better turn in, handling, noise, and look. I'm in NC so not much snow but really superior in rain. BTW I had 6/32 left on the oem tires so my comparison is not from worn out tires to new.
