SCT TUNING software not communicating
I am trying to figure out something which has become a big headache.. I recently installed a 170° degree T-stat, a 79mm pulley and VMP heat exchanger.. no issues there.. It was 95° out and I was pretty tired from being out in the sun all day went to load tune to vehicle.. not realizing my key was in my other car right next to mine. Long story short vehicle will not take custom tune tried recovery files no luck now it's getting p110B8.. so Matt at ID MOTORSPORTS has been trying everything he has the PCM on the bench and the pcm is communicating but not taking the tune like the SCT software won't load.. has anyone seen this and of so what was the prognosis, new PCM or reprogram from Roush. Vehicle description 2015 S500 GTPP with Roush TVS of blower, 79mm pulley 170° t-stat, VMP HE, stance coilovers and VOLK TE37s. Roush x-pipe and axlebacks.. car made 611whp before pulley change.. not that this matters right now lol. Please any reasonable input is welcome..
I can't seem to find any info on that code. If it's PCM related, you'll probably have to have Ford reset it first by reinstalling the OEM tune (without the SC), then upload the custom tune that includes the SC and new mods. In order to do that you'll probably have to have SCT unmarry the tuner too.
it's like starting over from scratch.
Worst case is you bricked the PCM in which case, yes, new PCM.
I'm still not clear how it could've happened though unless the upload process was interrupted? Where the key was/is has no impact on whether or not you can upload a tune, if the car is in the 'ON' position but not running then the key was in range. If the key got moved out of range during the upload, then it would interrupt the process and could create this issue.

my bad not p110b8 its 110b8 either way it said unable to communicate its on other sct sites but its fixed now and most people had no idea anyway.. not ford or ROUSH.. my tuner recalibrated the pcm on the bench and its fixed now
its a sct code and they have some pretty crazy ones.. it's not a Ford code..
Hmm..I wonder if that code is one related to what SCT was talking about when the 2015's first came out (late 2014) . They had a significant firmware update for the 2015+ models because a ton of people were getting lock ups and other issues...
How old is your SCT tuner?
How old is your SCT tuner?
tuner was reset and updated my tuner, Matt Alderman of ID MOTORSPORTS in Florida has a shop location in maryland.. check them out on FB or the web. The pcm had to be put on the bench and completely reprogrammed the SCTX4 I have is pretty old but that doesn't matter as long as it's updated with the latest updates.. I thought I needed a new PCM but he fixed it the new VMP DUAL FAN HEAT EXCHANGER, is a great upgrade IATs are low now around 105° with 97° ambient temps.. car runs absolutely amazing no crazyness.. I highly recommend them plus this work he did was all customer service.. I messed this up by leaving my key in my other car and loading the tune.. dumb mistake almost cost me big.. actually ROUSH and Ford thought the PCM couldn't be brought back Matt proved otherwise..
