Default Failed Inspection help

Hey guys. I've been to the DMV numerous times dealing with the same results. I have a "15 GT w/PP and the mods are Kooks 1-3/4 Headers with high flow cats , the Kooks race exhaust and the GT350 Intake manifold with a Bama Performance tune. I went back and forth with Bama trying several tunes to no avail. And yes I drove at least 200 miles each time yet it still says not ready. Anyone know what else I may need to do? I live in NJ. Thank you.

I hope someone will help you with this. I can't help much..... but here in Kalifornia you have to have a sticker with a special EO number for everything you change or you automatically fail. It really should be none of their bloody business if you pass all the emissions in active testing. We have the dyno rear wheel testing here.

My first smog test will be in January 2022. So will every California Mustang sold in 2015 by its sold month. It should produce lots of topics here.

I have the "93 performance monitors R2" tune loaded and mine passed emissions. When I was playing around with the tunes, some of the monitors went to incomplete status. All I did to get them ready was drive the car, keeping the rpms between 3-4k (normal driving for me). Hope you get it fixed.

If you don't already have Torque Pro and an OBDII reader, get them asap. You will know if the car will pass before you get tested.

I definitely agree with LT-Dan. If you live in a State or country which is trying to delete Fossil Fuel vehicles, get the equipment yourself to test your emissions prior to going. I am sure they charge for each time you go to get it tested. Good Luck.

Everything is pointing at your CATS. What is your air/fuel and are all your O2s still hooked up? Change those back detune and I think you will be fine. After you pass put it back like you want.
I use the Innova CarScan Pro 5610 along with RepairSolutions2 They have a really good support team free for life saved my *** a couple of times.

If you are still dealing with this...or if someone stumbles upon this same issue, then there are some things to try. First I recommend driving 500 miles for the readiness check to come back within range. I remember on the older Fords it was 500 miles. They might have changed it. But it might be worth it to give that a shot first.

Second, I suggest contacting a different tuner and seeing if they can tune you without shutting off the readiness. Because perhaps Bama turned them off with their tunes depending on how long ago you had the tune written.

Lastly you could try removing the tune and putting the stock IM back on. Then throw some spacers on the O2 sensor bungs to keep it from triggering a CEL. Granny drive it the 500 miles (you should be safe as long as you aren't beating on it) and then see if it passes. At that point there should be no CELs and the readiness monitors will all be on the stock tune.
