Admittedly, I have not been paying that much attention to the 2011 talk. But wasn't there something about the transmission, clutch, and/or drive line not being able to take much more than stock? In other words, it was never whether the engine would take to mods, but whether the rest of the car was already close to being maxed out.

Don't flame -- I really have no dog in the 2011 fight.

Of course most of it came from the tune.

But no matter. To get the most out of minor mods in these, or any other stang from these times a tune always gets you the most bang.
It tells your car how to use what "gifts" it is being given so to speak.

What I would like to know since I do not have is how much gain for the 05-10 GTs usually get with an X-pipe?
The mufflers may have added some back pressure
The air filter to my guess would be MINIMAL gain to 0 gain.

I'd like to see some numbers for a CAI/tune. (stand alone)

Man just looking at it though seems like some good gains.

I'm still having a big debate in my mind on whether or not I am going to trade my current GT in for a new 5.0.

I am TRYING to get used to the new body style. (Nothing against you 10-11 owners)
It will all come down to whether or not the increased power and driving feel will woo me over the styling of my baby or not.

I could always throw an SC on mine but again this 5.0 being at the horsepower level it is out of the box sure is temping.

Time will tell on my decision.
If I do trade in though... I will tell you this. It will be a virtual remake of my car as far as the styling. (of course minus the new body style)
Anyway... you know what I mean...

Gene keep us updated.
Great information!!!!

P.S. I promised myself no more mods until I decide on whether or not I am trading in.
But I did go ahead and order some sequentials hahha. That will be it untill the decision is made, which could be anywhere from two moths to a year from now.

Again Gene good info.
And thanks again for helping me with my trade in questions!

I literally live right around the corner from Evo. I have not yet seen this mustang, although tonight I have heard one go up and down 322 several times

The manual trans is only rated at 385 torque. I also know that doesnt always mean a whole lot. Lots of GT500 owners exceed TR6060 Rated Torque by large margins everyday.

I suspect the 2011 Driveshaft will only be an issue on Stickies.

The Tune played its part Im sure but I have my doubts it was the majority of the gain. Remember we only got 12 rwhp on a 2005-2009 going from Factory 87 Tune to 93. Assuming the same percentage increase you would be looking at 16 RWHP and Ford already got 9 RWHP of that.

I would think the Offroad X-Pipe was the biggest gainer.

PS As of 5:30 PM EDT 5/03 My car was being held up in FT Wayne IN (Flooding related I believe) and still had 600 miles to go by Rail before being transferred for another 200 miles by truck. My best guess is 5/06 Delivery although their is still an outside shot at 5/05 if it made it out last night.... Ford still shows a 5/04 ETA.
