Default First look: 2011 5.0L Clutch Assembly & Shifter

We pulled our tranny today so we can start working with one of our vendors on aftermarket clutch options. Here's a few pics of what we found. We should have some great clutch options available for these cars real soon. I also believe we'll see a TSB about the clutch pedal box assembly which is supposedly the cause of the clutch pedal sticking to the floor during high rpm shifts.

In the meantime enjoy the pics and feel free to comment or ask questions if you have any.

Guess how many splines are on the new clutch assembly

Nodular Iron Flywheel

A billet spacers is used to shim the slave cylinder.

Check out this crazy shifter. I'm sure the aftermarket companies are going to have a blast trying to figure this one out.

I guess its a good thing that the stock shifter on the MT82 is already pretty good. I found it to be much better than my friend's stock '05 shifter.

Boost on the very first picture is that discolored area normal? It looks almost like a gold spray paint. When it comes to stuff like this I know absolutely nothing.

It depends on what you're talking about. There are several yellow paint dots, yes. The other area which (I hope you didn't mean this) is rust.

Usually the person assembling the car will put a small dot on an area already completed. For instance, on the new electric power steering pump, there will be a dot of blue paint on each bolt once it's been torqued to spec. (May be GT500PP specific)

Besides a little rust on the fingers of the PP I don't see anything else abnormal with the clutch assembly. We've also already got a Mcleod RXT Twin disc setup ready to go into the car next week thanks to our good friends at Mcleod Racing.

do u find the new tranny having common issues such as the 05-09 hard to shift/torquing issues? Or other shifting issues u have had?

The tranny in the 11' shifts like butter. The only issue we've had is when shifting over 7000rpm's the clutch pedal will stick to the floor and prevent the clutch from re-engaging. Hopefully the new Mcleod RXT that we just received will fix the issue.

We'll keep everyone posted.
