Track times for 11 GT?
I've been out of the loop for so long but a few 2011 GT's have popped up locally and it's finally the first S197 Mustang to grab me by the ***** (other than the GT500).
What kind of performance are you getting out of them stock at the track? What are they putting down on the dyno stock? What is MSRP and what are they actually going out the door for?

I'm not sure what people are running stock, but with only a tune and sticky tires people are dipping into the 11's.
Stock they put down between 360-385rwhp, depending on the dyno/engine differences etc.
Base model MSRP's at around $31k. I got mine out the door, after trade-in, after tax, tags, title, etc for $32k. For appearance packages / brembo's, etc, see Fordvehicles.com.

Best deals are around invoice give or take a few hundred. My GT Base was $28,019 after rebates with optional rear gears. Would have been $27,675 with the 3.31.
MSRP is $30,495 Base and $32,695 Premium.

Interesting, Ford is offering rear gear options? What's available for gears?
So basically they are putting down stock 03/04 Cobra numbers on the motor only. Interesting. How are the new motors responding to modifications N/A? Is there any annoying quirks about the car?
The few S197's I test drove I felt crammed in the car, shifter location was better than the New Edge but still wasn't great. And the seats were pretty uncomfortable. Any of this improve?

3.31 (Standard M6 USA) , 3.55 (Standard M6 Canada) or 3.73. Optional Gears are $395 MSRP.
Dont forget to take the 3.66 Low and 1.32 4th into consideration when deciding on rear axle ratio.
With 3.55 my car has the same 1st gear as a 2010 with a 3.84 and 4th as a 2010 with 4.69 - 6784 rpm with 112 mph trap (114 mph at finish line). Soft Limiter is 6850 rpm and hard limiter 7000 rpm.
Automatics come with 4.17 Low / 1.14 4th Trans Ratios and 3.15 Rear Axle Only. I believe 12.7 or 12.8 is the best an automatic car has run Showroom Stock.

As far as power goes, they're putting down slightly more than a stock 03/04 Cobra to the ground, as you said, motor only. These cars, contrary to what many had speculated in the beginning, are responding very well to modifications. With only a tune, one can expect to see north of 400rwhp, again, depending on dyno/engine differences. With headers, off road x-pipe, a tune, and a cold air intake, Lethal performance was seeing 435rwhp.
At this point, it isn't a far stretch of the imagination to think that 475rwhp or more is possible, all motor, with aggressive tuning. This motor has some serious potential. And with a forged crank already included in the mix, a change to forged rods is really all that's needed to solidify the bottom end for a big blower. Even without, people are already sending 550rwhp through this motor no problem.

Last Saturday I saw two 2011 5.0s make a pass. Keep in mind that the D/A was anywhere from 3500 to 4110 depending on the time of day and the track is not that well preped. One driver only managed a 14.2. but this was on street tires and he may have missed a shift. The other driver did 12.9 on drag radials.

I've driven both the auto & manual 2011 5.0 Mustangs. Fit, finish & materials used have improved alot but what's up with the ugly back end? Seats are better but not that great.
5.0 manual with 3.73 gears was a blast to drive & felt like a high 12s car.
5.0 auto with 3.15 gears was a major disappointment, pretty doggy under 60mph then the beast wakes up & pulls really good after that. Maybe I just got a dud.
I looked at a dyno curve for the 5.0 today and the numbers under 3000 rpms are weak. 3000-6500 is a where the 5.0 shines. Keep the rpms high with the 5.0 and you will feel the power. Part throttle romps in the auto will leave you wanting more.
