I, too would like to know more....

I read that the 5.0 does produce more oil in this area than most, hence why I bought this product, but I nver knew it was a ACTUALLY problem with the motor...

I collect just as much oil as in the pics, too.

Its not a problem, the 5.0L & 3.7L both have a lot of blow by. The entire can will fill up at around 3000 miles, which is one of the reasons it is not an OEM part. Too maintenance extensive for the average owner. I generally empty mine every 1500-2K.

I had one of these in my old Jeep Cherokee because the oil would get in the air filter. But is there harm from not having this in the mustang? Will oil get into something that it shouldn't? Thanks.

The main benefit is a reduction of intake sludge and valve train fouling after 50,000+ miles.

The factory system is designed for emissions purposes only. Having oil sucked back into your intake not only mucks things up over years, but will also decrease the octane rating. It's more of "cheap insurance"

Make sure to get the passenger side unless you do a lot of road track racing; then get both the passenger and driver side.

yeah catch can is not a requirement or else it wouldve been on there from the factory. Never heard of a catch can being on a N/A car tho. I've really only seen them on cars with turbos....

And wow, that is alot of oil, even if it is normal for the engine.
