Default Rear end question...

I got my 2011 GT used, no window sticker to be found. The dealer said he was 'pretty sure' it was a 3.73 rear end. Is there any way to confirm this?
(like running at a particular speed, seeing w/ the rpm is etc)

TIA

Although I don't have the answer myself, you'll have a response shortly I'm sure from Nuke around here, who I believe has a spreadsheet of RPM to speed comparisons that tell you what type of rear axle ratio you're running

I was under mine last night and there is a tag on the diff that says the gear ratio. I had suspected mine was a 3.31 ratio and I confirmed it lay night by the tag.

The tag will tell you the gear ration on the differential. If for some reason there is no tag, if you have access to a lift the you can put a chalk mark on the drive shaft and spin the rear wheels, count how many times the rear wheel turn v the drive shaft.

The easiest way to check the gear ratio would be to look at the window sticker online. If your car has optional gears they will be listed under Optional Equipment. Just replace ...... in the following link with your VIN.

That's pretty cool! Just saved my sticker to my computer. Not trying to thread hijack, but is there a resource out there we can use to get more detail regarding manufacture date, number..etc?

you can email crc@ford.com with your VIN and request a build sheet. They will send you, on nice 24lb paper, a sheet listing your build date, options, etc. It's pretty nice, and free.

Ok, I found my sticker online, it does NOT mention anything about the rear end gear under options. So I guess that means I have the 3.31??
