Default Best Headers & X-Pipe for 2011 5.0

So I bought a C&L CAI, SCT Tuner, and Catback Competition Magnaflow Exhaust System..

Now I want some headers and a new X-pipe to finish opening up the exhaust. So my question is which is the Best Headers & X-Pipe for 2011 5.0 that will give me the biggest performance gains.

I am leaning towards Kooks right now but have absolutely 0 experience with them.

Kooks, Stainless Works, and American Racing Headers are all good. They will all be within 1-2HP of each other assuming you're comparing the same size headers. Go with whichever one looks the best to you and that you can get the best price on.

I haven't even seen any reports on 1/4 mile or whp gains you get from headers yet on these cars have you? For the 4.6L 3v Kooks typically reported a better rwhp gain.

I have no experience with American Racing or Stainless works but have always ran Kooks on my Camaros - nothing on the Mustang yet. Kooks headers are very nice - great welds, thick flange and mine have always sealed well - I wouldn't buy a different brand unless they were just way cheaper. Don't know if there is any truth to it but I have always heard Kooks have a better collector design.

how does the tune work exactly? do they send you the thing pre tuned and you hook it up to the ecu and press a button to upload it and thats it?

On ebay right now there is a pair of American racing L/T headers with x-pipe for 999.00. They claim a 32 RWHP gain with stock mufflers. Go check it out.

Essentially yes.. It took a little while for it to download the stock tune, and then upload the new tune, but yeah it is plug and play.

sounds easy enough, you buy it with the tune, and upload it.

Yup. With BAMA tunes at least they have you upload all your mods and then they send a pre tuned, tuner specifically for you to you and you jsut plug and play.
