Does it make it a lot louder, or just a little?

Without the 2 foam pieces you can really here the engine scream.

I put the piece of foam back in the end of tube which goes into the cabin. With both pieces of foam out when you floor it you will get a slight dash buzz/vibration due to all of the extra noise. Sounds awesome though, but the vibration was driving me nuts.

Theres a video clip on youtube showing how to remove the 2 foam pads. Really crappy though to be honest! Doesnt show exactly where they pull them from. Anyone care to make a video of it being done for all us here?????

just remember that the sound tube enters the intake AFTER the air filter.

No problem.....read up on it and you find that it has nothing to do with air flow based on it's design. As if Ford would do that.....

First I removed the white foam at the front of the tube. That makes very little difference. Then I removed the black foam in the rear. It's much louder but does not sound natural with both pieces removed. I put the white foam back in and now I like the way it sounds. I recommend always leaving the white foam and only remove the black piece if you want the additional sound.
