Anyone have expeirence with the Qtec electric cut outs, basically looking at getting some for my 2011 gt to have my nice quiet exhaust and when racing cut on the cut outs and get that bit of horse power gain like a full exhaust

 

Has anyone proven that cut outs are effective on the 2011s?

This is all based on knowledge of the 4.6L cars, but judging by the bigger and better designed stock exhaust on the 5.0, I imagine similar wisdom would apply:

Changing anything behind the manifolds on the 4.6 doesn't get you much; going from stock to non-catted x-pipe and straight pipes seems to be in the 7 horsepower range (plus or minus). I imagine cutouts would be similarly and that the above would apply mostly to the 5.0 cars as well.

Personally, the only reason I would buy cutouts is for sound. Performance gains will likely be minimal; certainly not the best hp per dollar mod.
