I drive my 2011 GT back and forth to work, mostly on I-95.
Just pulled in the driveway at 25.9 mpg for two days worth of driving.
Steeda intake and agressive tune is what I run the car with.

My Cobra gets 19-20.
And is more fun.

Air intake generally soon to follow, most likely K&N.

If anyone has numbers from things like that, let me know, or any better suggestions on brand name to use.

Also, another thing I have been considering, even doing to my truck, is getting it Dyno Tuned. I'm sure I may be able to find out from the Techs doing the work on the Truck and/or Car, but how far is too far for a gasoline engine when it comes to adding power, re-programming, then loosing fuel mileage? With a diesel, you can get away in cases adding upwards of 150-200 HP, and still not lose fuel mileage, or in some cases gain an improvement in fuel mileage, depending on rather or not the engine is tuned to the mods, and you can keep your foot off the floor.
before i had my mustang i had a 2008 powerstroke with 700 whp and @1200 tq but still averaged 19 in town and @28 on highway so i know were youre comming from. as for HP modifications to gas engines i know your basic tune, exhaust, and intake will add 30-70hp dependig on tune and if you have a M/T or A/T. on mine after i did my mods i actouly gained 60whp and about 1.5mpg highway. i lost 1mpg city but its a good trade off imo. as far as loosing mpg, its mostly found with supercharger/turbo applications and major internal mods like cammshafts. in the long run anyone here can testify that just the exhaust, intake, and tune will make a world of difference in your stang. theres a lot of good brands to choose from with intake. the steeda, roush, and jlt seem to be the most popular. as for exhaust ppl are mixing it up. i decided to go all out and get borla long tubes to a cat-back borla atak system and i dont regret any bit of it. with tunes SCT seems to be the most popular with the steeda tune or bama tune. i run the steeda and enjoy it but i wanna try the bama. and my average mpg with my A/T is 20/city 26/hwy.

I drove from Indy to Brenspeed which is about 135 miles. I took the backroads...IN HWY 13. I averaged 25.5 mpg which included traffic and stops along the way.

2011 Auto 5.0, see's 20mpg evenly mixed between highway and city. Always 10mph over the posted speed limited. Some granny starts as well as racing launches (I try to balance those out). For the most part, my rpms don't go over 3-4k.

My 2011 MT Gt avg 25.5- hwy driving. Last trip all highway 27. 3.31 gears. GT 500 axlebacks. In the city I avg anywhere from 19- granny driving to around 15-16 driving"normal". Ford has really done their homework with fuel efficiency in the 5.0's It's hard to get real good mileage because of the "right foot effect" lol

I have the 2011 5.0 with 6sp manual and 3.73's I average 18 mpg hand calculated mostly city driving, not sure about all highway yet (haven't had the chance to find out) but I'm sure it will be pretty decent If you set the cruise control/self control button's at about 7 over the speed limit on the highway.

In town 1-4-6 shifting ... 18-20mpg ...
in town playing around 16-18 ...
highway at 60mph I get 32~33mpg ...
at 80 mph I get 26 mpg ...
at 100 I get 20.5 mpg ...
this is all with cruise control on for more than 10 miles ... and yes I do drive fast all the time and yes I do know its only a matter of time thanks... This is all after my tune and intake ... I was getting about 2 mpg less without tune

3.31 gears, 20" wheels and 3.5" aluminum drive shaft .. if it matters

I got almost 24,000 miles on my car ... I do a lot of driving ...
