Road Course Set-up
So I'm picking up my new 5.0 this Friday (GT, Brembo,3.73). This is my first Mustang, I use to drive an RX-8. I plan on road racing it at least 5-7 times a season at Road America (kick a%$ track). I decided on the 5.0 over another RX-8 (wife wrecked old one) due to the fact that the RX-8 is a better handling car than the 5.0 but it's much more expensive to get it to have the power of the 5.0. The 5.0 on the other hand may not handle as great in stock form but after a few grand I'm sure it can surpas the 8. So in the end the 5.0 was the most cost effective option.
So, being new to the mustang world what would be the steps I take to beef up the suspension. The driver mod will be done in early Spring as I do about 4 days of events, so by early summer I'll start the suspension upgrades. I'm new to american muscle so i am cluless. I want a set-up that will work great together. I was thinking of doing the upgrade in two stages. First body regidity (sway bars, subframes etc...) then actual suspension (coil overs, lcas etc...). It's my DD but just to and from work (15 miles each way), the family car (Pilot) does the rest. I need some drivabilty but can handle a stiff ride as long as it dosn't break my back.
What do you think?

I've heard good things about the company below. I would contact them and see what they recommend.

I too upgraded to the mustang from a rotary vehicle. I just sold my RX-7 and it handled much better but had less than half of the power I have now. I've been doing a lot of research when it comes to road racing or solo racing the mustang. Check out this site http://www.stranoparts.com/searchbymodel.php?ModelID=35 They have a lot of good products and good customer service. Also check out this blog. http://www.corner-carvers.com/forums...ad.php?t=44217. The guy has a very good write up about what he has done and how well it performs. There are a lot of guys who road race their mustangs on the site. Good luck.

Awesome, a fellow Wisconsinite.
I hated the stock suspension. It only took one autocross event at Columbus Speedway to tell me that. I talked to Sam Strano, who is an autocross champion, and he pointed me to Steeda springs and Koni Yellow dampers. He insists that be the first suspension mod people do, depending on what you want out of the car, of course. Your goals sound similar to mine, so I would imagine the advice would be similar. The car is a rock star now. I think I will continue with a Watt's link next. Sam also stressed that changes should be done incrementally. Do one mod and drive it. What do you like about the change? What don't you like? Address what you still don't like. Stacking too many mods at once will not help you make good decisions.
