Let us know how that POR15 works out. I'm looking into doing a rust-proofing of my own before too long. I'm researching options at the moment.

Mine is rusted pretty bad too. I never thought about covering it. I will have to check into that stuff. Thanks.

I got the POR15 from Summit. I talked to a guy at work who did it to is 1972 Monte with a rusty axle, and he put on the POR15 on it, and he said it did a great job and looked new 6-7 years later too.....He is a straight-up guy, so I was sold. I'll take plenty of pics!

question on that rustproof stuff your gonna put on the axle. do you plan on sanding all the rust off 1st, then add the Por15? Or do you just paint right over the rust?

Most people I have talked to said that if it is just surface rust and it fairly new.....I can just paint over it with the POR15. I may knock some off with a wire brush, but i'll know more when I actually get under there and start inspecting up close.
